With a rumored 5.5-inch display, LTE support, and a 1.7GHz processor, Samsung may be cooking up an even larger Galaxy Note experience.
Samsung may be working on a larger, more powerful Galaxy Note for October, according to rumors hitting the Internet this week. Listed as having a 5.5-inch, 1,680x1,050-pixel display, the presumed Galaxy Note II is also said to feature a faster CPU and more memory.
Tracing the rumors back to their source, UbuntuLife advises that the smartphone will include Samsung's own Exynos 5250 dual-core processor, clocked at 1.7GHz. What's more, the Android 4.0-powered Galaxy Note II should come with 4G LTE connectivity across the board.
Things get a bit interesting on the subject of memory as UbuntuLife is reporting 1.5GB RAM. Considering the Galaxy S III will arrive with 2GB RAM this summer, I suspect Samsung might make the jump here, as well. And, given we're a few months from seeing this alleged handset, anything less than 2GB might be perceived as a shortcoming later this fall.
Seeing as how this is the first whisper of a Galaxy Note successor, we should take it all with a pinch of salt. Samsung already has seen a moderate amount of success with the first model even with limited carrier support. Should other wireless providers jump on board with the Galaxy Note, it would make sense to see Samsung ride its coattails for a little while longer.
