A court date has been set for Apple and Samsung's UK legal battle
Apple and Samsung have been embroiled in legal disputes since early 2011 and are now set to bring the fight to UK courts.

Apple alleges that Samsung has infringed on its intellectual property in creating the Galaxy range of tablet devices, while Samsung claims the accusation is false.

Apple had previously sought to delay the case but has had its request denied twice with two Judges ordering that it should proceed on the original date set. That means proceedings will start on June 18, next Monday, in the High Court.

Samsung and Apple’s intellectual property and patent warfare has taken the companies on a global litigation tour with cases in Australia, Japan, the US, Germany and the Netherlands.

Apple’s cases have focused on the visual design of Samsung’s phones and tablets, which it claims are copied from the iPhone and iPad.

Samsung’s counter-suits have been issued over the use of certain Wireless and data technology patents.

In Australia, Apple’s unsuccessful attempt to remove the Galaxy Tab 10.1 from sale led to a Samsung marketing campaign branding it as ‘the tablet Apple tried to ban.’

We’ve been in touch with Samsung’s representatives for comment and will report back when we get a response.
