We Just acquired information from LG today that it will be launching its new LG Optimus 4X HD in June for select European countries including Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden.

This is going to be LG’s entry entertainment-oriented device category because basically, Optimus 4X HD’s features are enhanced to offer entertainment at its best.

From its display down to its audio, you will easily notice this device is best used for multimedia playback putting it ahead in the competition when displayed on the shelf with other devices sporting the same specs. While it is targeted for entertainment purposes, you could just underestimate what this device can do because it also has the specs you wished you have in your smartphones.

While everybody was stunned by Samsung Galaxy S3 and its specs, many people haven’t noticed that other major manufacturers like LG have also been vying to release as powerful devices and Optimus 4X HD is just one of them.

Let’s try to talk about the CPU first. LG Optimus 4X HD will sport the popular nVidia Tegra 3 Cortex-A9 quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5GHz. In short, it comes with the possible maximum power a smart phone nowadays could have. Together with this powerful processor comes ULP GeForce graphics processing unit (GPU) to cater extensive graphics rendering.

To pair with the specs above, LG gave this handset 1 GB of RAM which is just typical for any dual-core and quad-core devices. The first time I heard about LG’s first smart phone with 2GB RAM (LG Optimus LTE2) I thought the company would also give Optimus 4X HD the same amount of random access memory but I was wrong.

LG simply wants to stick with the trend, after all having 1GB of RAM is more than enough you could ask for. Considering Android OS eats very little memory as well as its apps, a user couldn’t even use up 512MB at one time however powerful the device is. But of course, having a bigger RAM would always have impact on performance and smoothness of the processes.

I don’t know if there will be 32GB and 64GB models of this device but I am certain the lowest capacity one can get is 16GB. If you think that’s not enough then you don’t have to worry as a microSD slot is available for future upgrades.

LG Optimus 4X HD got 8MP camera and features all the typical functionalities you can get from any LG device. But since this handset boasts of its High-Definition IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, you can expect that the camera can also record full HD videos at 1080p@30FPS. It has fairly wide screen at 4.7 inches with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.

As expected, LG couldn’t afford its powerful handset to come with dated OS. So, you will be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) which is just perfect for optimum performance. People have always been wanting to update their Android devices to the latest version and in the following months, majority of Android users should be using ICS.

Thus, LG couldn’t just let its devices be left behind by the trends as far as firmware is concerned. One of the things you could also appreciate about this device is that it has a considerably powerful battery at 2,140 mAh; that could give you 6 to 7 hours of straight talk time and video playback.

We have heard reports that this handset is among the most stable devices LG would release and that there are very few bugs and inconsistencies, so we can expect really good battery performance in this. LG Optimus 4X HD is obviously not targeting the LTE market. Otherwise, it could sport nVidia Tegra 3 chipset just like other LTE device from other major manufacturers.
